The mind-body connection is a well-known phenomenon: Move your body, move your mind. But how do you stay active and connected to the outside world while sheltering in place?
RIVA Solutions Senior Business Development Associate, Savin Joseph, has found a way to do both.
As states began issuing Shelter in Place orders, Savin and his Omega Psi Phi fraternity brothers for North Carolina Central made a plan: the Tau Psi 100 Mile Challenge.
For the month of April, this group of long-time friends spread across the country and made a commitment to one another to each run or walk 100 miles to stay fit, mentally healthy, and to remain engaged with one another.
Using the Nike Run Club App to track the miles, these friends check in with each other, send "walking selfies," and have used this as a way to reunite on video calls.
"This challenge has been a great opportunity to not only get back into running but to reconnect with folks across the country who are also adjusting to the new normal,” says Joseph.
